Visit the Cairngorms: why stay at Fraoch Lodge?
Fraoch Lodge is more than just accommodation; it is also the home base for Scot Mountain Holidays. A visit to Fraoch Lodge means that you’ll not only have a comfortable bed and hot shower standard with most accommodation, but also you’ll have the benefit of sharing the experiences of fellow travellers and interested hosts.
The Lodge is a TV free zone so guests can enjoy the almost lost art of conversation in front of a log/peat fire. We’ve also got old fashioned card and board games to share in the main table of the lounge.
Room standard at Fraoch Lodge:
The rooms are simple without being unfriendly. We have put comfortable beds and powerful showers higher on our list than TV coverage and frilly doilies. There are tea-making facilities but these are in the central guest kitchen downstairs. Towels are not kept in the rooms but we try to remember to offer towels to our guests on arrival. If we don’t ask, just let us know and we’ll be happy to offer you a towel.
There is a hairdryer we can loan and also an iron and board if necessary.
Clothes washing facilities are available at the laundry behind the shop.
Photo caption: Our twin en suite (private bathroom) upstairs in the main house. As promised there is no TV, but we have extended wifi coverage throughout the house and annex. We do encourage guests to enjoy the fire in the lounge and the tea making facilities in the guest kitchen.
The annex:
Fraoch Lodge has a slightly unusual set up in that when a previous set of owners decided to start offering guest accommodation there were different fire regulations in place and it made sense to keep the guest accommodation slightly separate with its own entrance. If you are travelling with a young child, we can offer you a baby monitor so you can come across to the house and enjoy the fire without worrying about your sleeping child, if it is impossible to house you in the main building. Where possible, we always try to accommodate young children in the main house.
Any questions please just let us know.
We hope to see you in Boat of Garten soon.
