Munro bagging
If you're looking for a challenge, then the top challenge for hikers and hillwalkers in Scotland is completing a round of the Munros. There are over 280 Munros in Scotland (Munros are mountains over 3000ft in Scotland - there are some other rules which make a Munro rather than a "top" but this is the basic qualification.
Several of our guided holidays are designed specifically to help our guests "bag" some of the more technical or remote Munro peaks.
Munro bagging is the process of completing a “round” of Munros. Basically this means that you’ve ascended all the Munro summits in Scotland. It’s an honour based system as there is no means of checking that you’ve actually been to the summit of each of the Munros – but you’re only cheating yourself if you haven’t actually completed your round.
We have several trips which only contain Munro routes – but we can’t possibly run all of them every year.
These days we go to Skye every year to attempt to bag all the Munros there in a week.
Other popular areas include the Cairngorms (both north and south); Torridon; Strathfarrar; Fisherfield, and Argyll.
