We’ve gone international with our family adventures now as we’ve discovered the ultimate environmentally friendly family trekking in France – trekking with a donkey. We’ve teamed up with a French company offering treks with donkeys in rural France alongside our Scottish adventures. This trip is self-guided and follows a circular route. It is the ultimate environmentally friendly supported trek. There is no motorized transport involved in delivering your trip.
Our unique combination of a home-stay atmosphere with a many Scottish Highlands activities. As with all our holidays, the accommodation, guiding, transport and delicious freshly cooked meals are mainly provided in-house, which means that guests really get to know their hosts and quickly relax into the holiday. Based at our comfortable home, Fraoch Lodge, families will enjoy staying in one place (there is no need to live out of a suitcase on these trips!) giving the all important flexibility to swap days around, according to your desires and the weather.
The activity days are a mix of guided and self–guided, which give families the opportunity to get the most out of their trip along with a chance to spend time as a family unit exploring at their own pace. The range of things to do also means our holidays can be kept to an affordable level. Our fantastic cook, Rebecca, can also keep the kids occupied during home time at Fraoch Lodge, with optional cooking and gardening experiences.
There is never a dull day at Fraoch Lodge – and we hope to show you the best of what the Scottish Highlands has to offer adventurous family holidaymakers.
